EIC Summit 2024

The European Innovation Council Summit 2024, will take place on 18 and 19 March as part of the Research & Innovation week. Celebrating the 40-year journey through the Research and Innovation Framework Programmes, the R&I Week 2024 will debate the future of R&I and shape the contribution to EU political priorities, in particular the EU Tech Sovereignty and Competitiveness. The R&I week also includes the Belgian Presidency event on Innovative Procurement.

During the workshop titled “Scale up your business using the power of Innovation Procurement”, Edelio Barmejo, Head of Innovation and R&D at Holcim, will join other panelists to discuss ways to scale up a business through the support offered by the EIC Innovation Procurement program that is facilitating the access of innovative SMEs and start-ups to procurement markets in Europe but also worldwide. Edelio will share good practices based on Holcim’s collaboration with and investment in Nanolike, a digital construction tech company. 

Additionally, a matchmaking event between EIC beneficiaries and leading companies at global level that are taking part in the First Movers Coalition (World Economic Forum initiative) will showcase in real time and convincingly the power of Innovation Procurement regarding the scaling up of innovators.

Holcim invests in digital construction tech company Nanolike

Nanolike’s pioneering technology optimizes the way building materials are stored, distributed and delivered, enhancing service quality, delivery efficiency and environmental responsibility.

Holcim to deploy 1,000 long-distance electric vehicles

Holcim will deploy a total of 1,000 units of Mercedes-Benz Trucks’ new eActros 600 battery-powered electric truck to its European fleet. This enlargement of its electric truck fleet will contribute to Holcim’s 2030 goal of reducing by 24% its scope 3 downstream transportation emissions per ton of material transported versus a 2020 baseline.
