Holcim and Climate Earth expand Environmental Product Declarations worldwide

• Scaling up Environment Product Declarations in line with worldwide building standards

Holcim and Climate Earth partner to expand Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) worldwide. The partnership builds on the success of Climate Earth’s EPD GeneratorTM digital platform, certifying Holcim’s ECOPact low-carbon concrete across North America. The partners will expand this platform globally, making it compliant with worldwide EPD standards and extending it to cement material solutions. Initial implementation has already succeeded in certifying Holcim’s entire cement portfolio in Germany, and is rapidly expanding to cover cement and ready-mix portfolios in additional countries around the world. As an independent verification system validating the environmental profile of a product, EPDs are key to accelerating low-carbon demand to decarbonize building at scale.

The EPD GeneratorTM is a sophisticated and easy-to-use tool that verifies embodied carbon, helping building materials suppliers and customers manage and reduce the footprint of their products and projects. To date, Climate Earth has generated over 50,000 third party verified EPDs for ready-mix concrete. Climate Earth is the main provider of on-demand, digital EPDs for the concrete industry, and the leader in the sector with 95% of all concrete EPDs in North America issued by them.
